  • Earls Colne

    The popular Village of Earls Colne is nestled within the picturesque Colne Valley. The Village is named after the River Colne and the Earl of Oxford who held the manor in 1086.

    Earls Colne benefits from having an array of shops and amenities catering for most daily needs to include a supermarket, Church, public house, restaurants, library, pharmacy, hardware store, post office, butchers, hairdressers, florist and gift shop.

    The Village is ideally situated for access to the A12, A120 and main line railway stations at Colchester, Marks Tey and Kelvedon.

    Earls Colne also benefits from having a Primary School & nursery which achieved a ‘Good’ rating by Ofsted in 2017.

  • Colne Engaine

    Colne Engaine is a Village situated North of the River Colne, approximately 10 miles Northwest of Colchester. The Village is named after both the River Colne and the ‘Engaine’ family who were the principle family in the Village between 1279 and 1367.

    Colne Engaine benefits from having a Public House, Church, Village shop and Post Office.

    The Village also benefits from having a small Primary School.

  • Wakes Colne / Chappel

    Wakes Colne is situated next to the Village of Chappel, with which is shared Chappel & Wakes Colne Railway Station. Wakes Colne is most commonly recognised for its Viaduct. Chappel Viaduct was built in the last 1840’s and is renowned as being the second largest brick built structure in England. 7,000,000 bricks from Bures were used to construct the viaduct.

    Chappel & Wakes Colne Railway Station is a branch line between Marks Tey and Sudbury.

    The Village benefits from having a Village shop, Post Office and Public House.

    Wakes Colne also benefits from having a small Primary School.

  • Pebmarsh

    Pebmarsh is a small Village and a civil Parish in the Braintree District. The Village is situated to the North East of the Market Town of Halstead.

    The Village benefits from having a Public House, Church, restaurant and Village shop.

    Pebmarsh also benefits from having a Primary School.

  • Halstead

    Halstead is a traditional market town with the River Colne running through the heart of it. The town benefits from having an array of shops, a medical centre, dental practice, sports centre and several schools.

    Halstead Town benefits from having a market which is held each Friday & Saturday.

    Halstead in Bloom was formed in 2000 and from 2009 have been GOLD award Winners every year since, also named as Best Town in Anglia in Bloom, on 5 occasions by RHS Britain in Bloom.
